Pantech’s Vega Iron2 Is Now Official; Does Not Include The Snapdragon 805 Processor

A 1080p AMOLED display and a 13MP OIS camera could work in its favour.

Pantech finally took the wraps off its Vega Iron2 smartphone. The device comes with a standard set of flagship worthy specifications and sports a rather slim and minimalistic design that would easily put Samsung’s GALAXY S5 to shame.

The Vega Iron2 has certainly looks the part when it comes to flagships. The device comes in black and white variants with up to 3 different finishes for each device and is powered by Android KitKat version 4.4.2. What is strange and somehow does not fit in, is the GALAXY S2-like home button. It terms of hardware, the Vega Iron2 includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC that is clocked at 2.3GHz which is coupled with a hefty 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Yes, the Vega Iron2 does not come with the much-talked about Snapdragon 805 processor which we all we hoping for.

The display is a 5.3 inch Full HD AMOLED display which along with the massive 3,220mAh battery will definitely make it a contender in terms of battery life. The primary camera is a 13MP unit which comes with Optical Image Stabilisation and an LED flash, while the front-facing camera is a 2.1MP one.

Sadly, Pantech has not announced the availability of the device outside the Korean market. And by the looks of what has happened in the past, we doubt that Vega Iron2 will ever see a global launch.
