LG Seems To Be Going For Gold With Its Upcoming LG G3

Insider information reveals that the device will come with IPX7 water resistance as well.

 

As the launch of the LG G3 nears, the number of rumours will obviously keep on increasing. This is common for flagship launches across the globe; except in the case of the HTC One (M8), which literally raised the bar when it came to leaks. As for the LG G3, we now finally have live images of what cannot be mistaken for anything else, but the much-awaited flagship itself.

The new live images brought to light by GSMArena, show the Gold variant of the upcoming LG flagship smartphone. The design certainly looks subtle but kind of leans towards Samsung’s faux-leather design theme; in LG’s case a fake brushed metal look.

Twitter leaker EvLeaks had mentioned that the device will come with a brushed metal design, but so far after all the leaks; the back still seems to be as plasticy as the previous LG G2, sans the fingerprints. Still, the design looks a lot better than the previous LG G2 and is way better than Samsung’s GALAXY S5.

Apart from the previously leaked hardware specifications, the insider claimed that LG’s upcoming flagship will indeed come with an IPX7 water resistance rating as well. This is a good move since most flagships announced this year have made water resistance a standard affair.

Another eye opener that the insider revealed was that we will soon get to see the debut of LG’s Google Now-like service which will show recommendations based on location and act a bit like Apple’s Siri. As we all can easily predict, this will most probably turn out to be a half-baked product with plenty of limitations as this clearly is LG’s first step into software.

As predicted earlier, the mysterious black sensor indeed assists the camera in delivering a faster focus speeds and is obviously present to make low-light focus a lot quicker.

What could be a game changer here is a Snapdragon 805 processor; which if LG includes, could attract better sales as the processor clearly falls in line with the next wave of flagships. HTC and Samsung already seem to be working on the next wave of devices which will sport QHD (2560 x 1440 pixel) displays, so it would make a lot of sense if LG took the leap and switched to a faster processor.
