Chinese Cell Phone Manufacturer Vivo Finally Announces Its Xshot Camera Smartphone
Sadly the expected QHD display did not make it to this device.
Vivo had been teasing us for a long time, leaking out images of what would be its flagship this year. The device which was earlier referred to as the X-Zoom has now finally been made official by the Chinese manufacturer as the ‘Xshot’.
If you do not remember Vivo, they are guys who built the world’s first QHD (2560 x 1440 pixel) screened smartphone, and this time around Vivo’s focus like every other manufacturer is on the camera. The Xshot brings a 13MP f/1.8 unit camera which is a Sony module with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). This will not only deliver brighter images in low light, but also ones that have minimal blur, thanks to the OIS system.
As teased before, the Xshot’s camera is supported by a dual-tone LED flash and comes with a two-stage shutter key as well. With so much photographic capability, it would definitely be a downer if Vivo did not include 4K video support. The camera as it turns out, thanks to the Snapdragon SoC is more than capable of capturing the same. What’s new in the camera department is the inclusion of an LED flash that with the front-facing camera will allow selfie-crazed audiences to take clearer shots with its larger than usual 8MP sensor.
The device is said to come in two different versions. The high-end version would feature a Snapdragon 801 SoC with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, while the standard one will comes a Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory.
Thankfully, both variants will come with 5.2 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel) displays and includes the Maxim MAX97220 headphone amplifier system for superior sound quality. Powering all of the above hardware will be a 2600mAh battery and KitKat 4.4.2 which will be welcomed, since the handset is pretty slim for a camera smartphone.
