Helps you create and contribute to a virtual time lapse of locations or objects around you.
Project Tripod is a one of kind app that not only lets you click time lapse photos without a tripod, but also allows you to upload and contribute your image to a much bigger collection. The app was an idea that turned into an app coming from the AppCampus program which is funded by Microsoft and the Aalto University in Finland.
The app basically allows you to click photographs and objects around you and then come back to them hours, days or even years later and get another shot. All of this can be achieved without the use of a tripod making this app a real winner for those who like to click time lapse photographs.
The results can be used in multiple ways. You could use the image to find out the changes that happened to a particular site, or even browse through images that others have clicked of the same location before. This makes the app great for builders, creative people (make an artsy blend of old and new images) and even common people to keep track of things around the house.
What’s more is that these images (or Tripods as they call it) can also be shared which in turn encourages more people to join and contribute to clicking a particular site or object. All-in-all a great way to share, collaborate and keep track of the changes of your favourite places. The app is currently only available for the Windows Phone platform but expect to see iOS and Android versions of the app pretty soon.
