OPPO’s Budget Joy Handset Unveiled In Indonesia

Sporting a MediaTek SoC and 3 MP snapper, the Joy may see a global release pretty soon.

After raising eyebrows with their drool-worthy Find 7, OPPO quietly unveiled a mid-range device called the OPPO Joy. The Joy is a dual SIM handset which comes loaded with features with a $ 138 (approx. 8500 INR) price tag.

We all know OPPO as a manufacturer of quality handsets; this time it seems that the company has designed a quality handset for a much lower segment. The Joy sports a 4 inch WVGA screen and comes with a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek processor with a Mali 400 handling the graphics and 512 MB of RAM. On the back is 3 MP primary camera while the front facing module is a 0.3 MP one. The handset runs on Android Jelly Bean version 4.2.2 and is powered by a 1700 mAh battery unit. The device comes with 4 GB of internal memory which can be expanded thanks to a micro SD card slot.

If the OPPO Joy is officially announced in India, it will have to compete with a number of local and international brands in this space. There is no clear news about whether OPPO will have a global release for the OPPO Joy. The handset is clearly designed for developing countries which is why we guess that India will receive the handset pretty soon.
