LG’s Upcoming G3 Smartphone To Come in a Gold Coloured Option

After leaks of the rumoured device’s Korean sibling, a gold colour option gets confirmed.

LG G3 has only recently hit the rumour mill but there have been quite a few murmurs about it already. After leaker @EvLeaks showed us product images of the LG isai FL (image below), the LG G2’s successor in Korea, it is now time for some more news.

The Verge has reported, that they have received an image of what is confirmed to be a retail box of the upcoming LG smartphone flagship—the LG G3. What is interesting here is not the retail box, but the colour of the retail box; which is a classy champagne gold (similar to Apple’s iPhone 5s).

It’s a growing trend among smartphone manufacturers to add gold to their smartphone’s colour palette. And unlike Nokia, the Koreans seem to be switching to colours that are similar to Apple’s offering.

So far almost every other major manufacturer has revealed their flagship smartphone for 2014 (HTC, Samsung and Sony); with HTC and Samsung devices already on sale in many markets across the globe.

LG seems to have waited to see what the competition was up to and then decided to make its move—a trick that seems to have worked.

Leaks so far point to the LG G3 being a smart-looking device with a minimal bezel. Also, as The Verge reports, LG did confirm to the news about its latest flagship sporting a 2560 x 1440 pixel, QHD display. This makes it the second handset this year to sport a QHD display apart from Oppo’s Find 7. Also adding OIS to the LG will certainly give it more bragging rights when it comes to hardware specs. Let’s also not forget the flatter, sober, toned-down UI that LG is planning to include with the LG G3; which may find some more buyers for LG devices after all.

All-in-all the LG G3 may end up being the ‘King of the Ring’ if packs in the right specs and the performance to go with it. If it gets it gets its hardware and software right LG may take the lead from those who have already got a head start this year.
