Sprint Announces Android KitKat 4.4.3 Update Roll Out For Its Nexus 5

Unlike the rumours, the update brings only carrier enhancements with no sign of the rumoured camera fixes.

Earlier reports by Google revealed that the Nexus 5 would in its upcoming update, bring much needed improvements to its 8MP shooter.  However an announcement made by US telecom operator Sprint seems to point the other way. Sprint announced that it would be updating its own (carrier version) Nexus 5 this month but added that they would only include some minor enhancements.

The upcoming update according to Sprint would be a minor one; simply enabling the LTE bands 26 and 41. There would also be minor bug fixes but strangely no mention of any camera and other important fixes that Google said it would be bringing to the Nexus 5.

Sprint will be rolling out its Android 4.4.3 update for the Nexus 5 gradually in batches beginning from the 14th of April up till the 21st. There is no news from Google about the Android 4.4.3 update for non-carrier variants of Nexus 5 just yet.

Currently there are number of bugs that Google needs to flatten out for the Nexus 5 handset. These range from random reboots to camera focus issues and even data connection dropouts. Let’s just hope that if not for the new features, at least the bugs get squashed out in Google’s upcoming update.
