Google’s Note Taking Service Keep, Gets A ‘Noteworthy’ Update
Brings the ability to find printed text in images and much more.
Google Keep’s newest v2.2 update brings a host of improvements to an already well designed app for taking notes. It certainly has replaced the ever popular Evernote for some, thanks to it simplistic approach to note taking. The new update brings new features to the app adding functionality while retaining the simple UI that app was designed around.
The 2.2 update adds a very noticeable yellow action bar on the top which has a striking similarity with the browser version of the app. You can now even search through images which you have clicked for printed text, and obviously save them to a note. Also included in the update is a new trash section that allows you to keep those deleted notes for a little longer; just in case you need to look back on something. You can now also make copies of note instead of copy pasting data from one note to another.
In the past users would often compare Google’s Keep with Evernote and the former would fail in the comparison. This is simply because the two note-taking apps were built for completely different purposes. Google Keep was designed to take quick memos or reminders while Evernote was designed keeping in mind a personal diary. Think post-it notes versus a leather backed diary to make things simpler. Google Keep is exclusive to Android and is also available on your web browser in case you do want to give it a shot at keep.google.com
All in all version 2.2 is a great update that will definitely boost your note taking productivity.
