HTC Might Release The One (M8) Mini As Early As May
Will sport a smaller screen and skip on the Duo Camera.

HTC has never been good at keeping secrets. This is clearly evident from how they could not prevent even the smallest details of the HTC One (M8) from being leaked online. Well, next up is the HTC One (M8) Mini, which seems to have taken a rather unusual route to getting leaked.
A blog in the UK has reported that HTC will be launching a mini version of the HTC One (M8) and is scheduled to go on sale in May. Yes, just like its predecessor, the newly launched HTC One (M8) will see a mini version, with a smaller 4.5 inch screen.
When HTC adds the suffix ‘mini’ to their devices, the hardware usually ends up getting downgraded along with the size. Sony came about and changed that with the Z1 'Compact', offering a flagship device with a smaller screen. We have no clue whether HTC will follow Sony’s route and design a smaller handset with similar hardware specs to its full sized cousin. All we know is that the M8 Mini will sport the same metal body with a smaller 4.5 inch display which could be water-down to a more sensible 720 x 1280 pixel resolution.
What is confirmed to be omitted will be the Duo Camera module which makes its presence felt on the back of the new HTC One (M8). Leaked information reveals that HTC will go for a single camera solution since the smaller size will prevent the use of the former. Let’s hope that HTC sticks to Sony’s philosophy and like the Z1 Compact, brings a decent sized smartphone with the mind-boggling processing power of the Snapdragon 801.
