Sony Says 'No' To Android Wear; Will Go Its Own Way For Now
While this may come as dissapointing news to many, it's best to stay put and see how things pan out.

Tech-giant Sony has vowed by the Android platform for running its phones, but when Google rolled-out a stripped down version for wearable devices, the Japanese company has said that it will stick to its own OS for now.
"We've already invested time and resources on this platform, and we will continue in that direction," said Ravi Nookala, Head of Sony Mobile's US arm, in an interview with CNet.
With manufacturers like LG and Motorola scrambling to launch their smartwatches running on Android Wear, the news dashes the hopes of some Sony fans that were expecting a competing device from the manufacturer. Sony in fact was one of the first company to roll out a companion device to its smartphones, and given the lack of Android Wear went about building their own wearable OS based on Android.
Ditching its own propitiatory software and going the Google way doesn't make any sense for Sony, especially after the massive investments it has already made on wearables. Even Samsung has pulled out from deploying Android Wear across its Galaxy Gear range, instead opting to stick to its Tizen OS.
The Smartwatch 2 which Sony unveiled recently is actually the fourth generation of wearable devices from the company. The software which runs the device has been evolving and maturing every year, making it understandable that the company isn't going with Android Wear, at least for the time being.
"We're excited about the potential of Android Wear to extend the mobile OS experience into wearable devices," said the company in a follow-up statement. “...we continue to work closely with Google as a key partner and continue to evaluate opportunities across a number of areas as we extend our SmartWear Experience."
