ZTE Grand S EXT To Be Built Using The Nano Moulding Technology
The unique manufacturing process is expected to offer robust build quality.
When design is the focus of your upcoming smartphone, then there is no doubt that it will eventually leak out before the final reveal. Take for example, 'The All New All New HTC One'. With all the details already out in the open, we wonder what HTC will do on the launch day.
It seems, today is ZTE’s turn with its curvy Grand S EXT. We are guessing it is the flagship that that will compete with the big guns of the mobile world. All thanks to the Red Dot Global Design Directory, we not only get to see its design, but also get enlighten about its interesting manufacturing process mentioned in the description.
ZTE is supposedly pulling off a world’s first here with NMT (Nano Moulding Technology), which is the fusion of plastic with metal. The metal and plastic are supposedly injected together into the mould, resulting into a crystalline state which can then be chamfered along the edges.
Why all this trouble you may ask? Well, it is to reduce costs of manufacturing two components separately whilst giving a more robust build quality with reduced number of screws as well. If you were crying about a non-removable battery, get ready for a lot more if other manufacturers follow the suit.
So far, there is nothing mentioned about the hardware specifications of the device. Our guesses point towards a Snapdragon 800 powered SoC with a Full HD screen; something that is now becoming an industry standard.
