HTC Desire 310 Will Clash With The Moto G
The budget Android handset will probably cost around Rs 14,400 in India.

As reported earlier, HTC is indeed betting big on the budget smartphone market this year. After unveiling a trendy Desire 610 at MWC, the Taiwanese manufacturer is prepping to launch the Desire 310 next month. Going by the model number and specs, we're sure it's going to be cheaper than the 610. Speaking of specs, the phone offers a 4.5-inch IPS screen with 854x480 pixels. To bring the manufacturing cost down, HTC has gone with MediaTek MT6582M chipset. These SoCs are generally used in Sino-Indian smartphones such as Micromax, Lava, Intex etc. Their performance lacks consistency when compared to Qualcomm's offering. Like most budget phones, the 310 comes with a 5 megapixel camera, dual-SIM support, 4 GB internal storage, and microSD card slot. The 512 MB RAM is definitely on lower side, which makes us wonder if the phone can handle Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Design-wise the 310 looks like a successor of the Desire C, which was announced in 2012. Much like the 610, the new phone comes in blue, white, and red. The phone is expected to launch on 10th of April. The rollout will begin with a few European countries including Netherlands, where it's priced at EUR 170 (approx Rs 14,400). So in India, the handset will compete with Moto G.
