Windows Phone 8.1 To Bring Skinnable Live Tiles
A new leak suggests that the upcoming update will make Microsoft's mobile platform more customisable.

We simply love the lively and colourful Windows Phone UI. However, after making a switch to Windows Phone, most Android users miss the background wallpaper feature. Well, it seems like Microsoft is going to address this issue without hurting the platform's design language. Images leaked by an Italian website Windowsblogitalia.com show that the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1 introduce an option to add background image to live tiles.
If this turns out to be true, users will finally be able to proudly show-off their selfies on WP homescreen. Third-party apps that use photos displayed on the entire live tile will definitely be left out (as seen in the screenshots).
This new option to add a skin to the Live Tiles on Windows Phone 8.1 will not be turned on by default and the user will have to switch them on via settings to activate the customisation feature.
