Meru Cabs Arrive On The Windows Phone Platform
The app retains the handy ICE feature from its iOS and Android counterparts.
Meru Cabs, one of the most popular cab services in India, has gone high-tech with its smartphone application. We all love the old app on when it came to iOS and Android and now they have launched an app for Windows Phone devices as well.
Cab booking is now easier than ever for Windows Phone users, since the app is simply not a port of its Android or iOS apps but builds on the Modern UI theme of Windows Phone apps. Once installed, you’re required to register the app using your phone number. After that the process is quite straight forward. Select your pick-up and drop address along with the timings. With GPS location services, the app can even identify your existing location, so you don’t have to type in the address. Once the taxi is assigned, you can track it in real-time. Similarly, you get route information throughout your journey. You can rate the service and get an e-receipt for the trip.
Another feature that requires a special mention is the ICE (Case of Emergency) button that can send SOS message to your friends or family. The ICE button is accessible throughout the app’s interface. In case, you accidently hit that key, the app also gives you ten seconds to cancel the request. Overall, the app is quite stable and easy-to-use. Grab it, if you live in major Metros such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Jaipur.
