Samsung May Launch An Exynos Touting Variant Of The GALAXY S5
After a soft GALAXY S5 launch, does the Korean smartphone maker has something better in store?
We all looked in awe as Samsung finally unveiled the long-awaited GALAXY S5 a few hours ago. What did not surprise us at all (thanks to a lot of leaks) was that the GALAXY S5 looked very similar to last year’s S4.
There were not too many hardware improvements as well. A 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor was chosen, instead of what fans normally expect — a benchmark crunching Exynos. When it came to the design, we think Nokia’s tweet said it out pretty well — it was the same as before.
Rumour has it that Samsung may have saved the best for last. Or at least that's what our friend at SammyHub.com wants us to believe. Samsung usually reserves the Snapdragon chipset-based variants for the US market, rest of the world gets the Exynos powered versions. An info graphic posted on Samsung's blog states that Samsung may be saving up for a higher-spec GALAXY S5 after all.
Earlier according to the rumour mill, it was stated by sources that the manufacturer was to announce two devices; one of which boasted of a WQXGA (2560x1600) screen and an octa-core or 64-bit processor. So we hope that Samsung has something better up their sleeves, as not too many people would be interested in the S5; as it does not even count as an incremental update to the existing S4.
