HP Launches Voicetabs, Prices Start From Rs 23,000

HP hopes to take on the phablet market its VoiceTab line-up.

 

HP has launched its new VoiceTab series, which are basically quad-core tablets with calling facilities. Classified by size, the two tablets aptly named the HP Slate 6 VoiceTab and 7 VoiceTab are loaded till the teeth with free software and services.

Sporting industrial designs reminiscent to HP’s personal computer series, the tablets have a similar hardware specifications except when it comes to screen size and battery capacities. 1.2 GHz quad-core Marvell PXA1088 processors power the tablets that run HD IPS screens (6 and 7 inches) with a paltry 1 GB of DDR2 RAM. The tablets also feature a dual SIM setup capable of running a normal and a micro SIM on dual standby.

The Slate 6 VoiceTab gets a decent 3000 mAh battery while the Slate 7 VoiceTab gets a chunky 4100 mAh battery unit that according to the screen size deliver an above average battery life. Both tablets come with dual front speakers at the top and bottom edges of the screen which have a striking similarity with the HTC One series speaker setup.

Powered by Android Jelly Bean v 4.2.2 the tablets come with exclusive apps such as HP Connected Music, HP e-Print, HP Connected Photo and HP File Manager. HP Connected Music offers free unlimited download of songs for 3 months while letting you listen to over 1.5 million songs from various genres such as Bollywood, regional and international music, in CD quality. Also included are some special discounts with included apps from bag it today, makemytrip.com and India Today Group.

The HP Slate 6 VoiceTab is priced at Rs 22, 990 and comes in Black and is available today while the HP Slate 7 VoiceTab is priced at Rs 16,990 and will be available sometime next week.
