Samsung GALAXY S5 To Go Bezel-Free With New Display Tech
In an industry first the 2560x1600 pixel QHD display will have no bezel.
It's innovations all over the place for Samsung. First, we heard about the fingerprint ID technology display and now sources at the Korean Herald say that the display will be bezel-free.
If the news agency has its facts right, the newer GALAXY S5 will be slimmer and have a 2560x1600 pixel QHD display without a bezel. We have no clue about how well such display will handle bumps and drops considering that the GALAXY range is not known for its durability.
The rumoured fingerprint scanning technology will supposedly work by swiping the bottom left and right sides of the screen. This kind of kills the whole purpose of the technology considering one wouldn't want to waste his time figuring out where to swipe finger to unlock the device.
According to Korean Herald, the next generation GALAXY will be slimmer considering that newer and more sensitive display panels with fewer layers are on the way. It states that, "Scanning fingerprints on the entire screen, which was much talked about recently, will be available in the latter half of this year as there are still technological hurdles to overcome,"
