iPhone 5c Gets A Price Drop, Still Costs An Arm And A Leg

The colourful iPhone is now pegged at Rs 36,900.

 

Apple fans rejoice, the 16 GB iPhone 5C handset has become cheaper by Rs 5000 and available online for Rs 36,900. This price-cut maybe owing to the poor sales of the device. Currently, the online site shows the yellow and blue 16 GB iPhone models priced at Rs 37,000 and Rs 36,900 respectively. On the other hand, the green, white and pink models will be pegged at a slightly higher price of Rs 39,500. When we checked with a few dealers, the iPhone 5s seems to be selling more than the iPhone 5C, despite its Rs 53,000 price tag. The iPhone 5c has a 4-inch Retina display, and is powered by the older Apple A6x chipset (dual core). There’s an 8 megapixel rear camera along with a FaceTime HD camera. The company is trying to boost its sales by bringing in EMI schemes, buyback and exchange offers, along with carrier tie-ups to boost sales.
