Firefox Launcher Is Coming Soon To Android Smartphones Near You
The upcoming software will suggest select apps depending on your usage pattern.
Last year, Mozilla launched Firefox OS for smartphones. Targeted at the budget segment, the platform failed to gain any traction. Now the company is trying to get into the market piggy banking on the world's most popular smartphone platform, Android. At the InContext Conference, Mozilla showed off a sneak-peak of the upcoming release of Firefox Launcher for Android. To make this app possible, Firefox has joined hands with an Israeli start-up EverythingMe, which specialises in contexual content discovery. In simple words, the software will feature a Prediction Bar, which will present you four apps depending upon the the time, location, and your browsing history. For instance, at 8 am, it will feature the apps that you're most likely to use in the morning such as clock, weather, CNN, and Flipboard.
Mozilla has said that the company will share updates soon as development is finished. However, there's no timeframe for the same.
