Rumour: Nokia X (Normandy) To Feature A 4" Screen And Dual-Core CPU

The handset could run forked Android OS.

Internet is abuzz with rumours related to Nokia X (also known as Normandy) handset. It's garnering so much anticipation simply because many believe that it will be the first Android device from Nokia's camp. Realistically speaking, it seems like a far-fetched dream considering Microsoft has finalised the purchase of Nokia's devices business. That said, we can't completely rule out the possibility of Nokia going ahead with a modified version of Android stripped off all Google services. For instance, Nokia will replace Gmaps with HERE, Hangouts with Skype etc.

Moving onto its specs, "serial leaker" @evleaks has tweeted that the Nokia X will feature a 1 GHz dual-core processor, 5 megapixel camera, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 1500 mAh battery, and dual-SIM functionality. The handset will sport a 4" WVGA screen. Nokia X will come loaded with Nokia Store. There will also be an option to access thrid-party repositories. So while theres no clear indication that the phone will run Android OS, the talks of side-loading apps drop enough hints. In line with previous leaks, evleaks claims that the phone will flaunt a Lumia-esque design and six colours.
