Microsoft's Virtual-Assistant Cortana Caught On Camera

The service will compete with Apple's Siri and Samsung's S-voice.

Siri may not be the quickest way to get things done on your iPhone, but it's definitely fun to use. It was the much-needed friend for many Apple fans who don't tag along with Android masses. Needless to say, it was an instant hit among the consumers. Later, Samsung imitated this service and built its own S-Voice. Samsung's implementation was neither useful nor fun. Finally, it's now time for Microsoft to jump on this voice-assistant bandwagon. From last few weeks, we've been getting reports of the Redmond giant working on a similar system codenamed Cortana. It's probably based on (AI) Artificial Intelligence character from Microsoft's popular gaming franchise Halo. Now if the Twitter handle @WPLeaker is to be believed, the project seems to be in its testing phase. The person behind the Twitter account has posted a short 44 second video that demonstrates Cortana's skills.

The embedding function has been disabled by the uploader. Therefore, you'll have to follow this link to watch Cortana in action. Going by the video Cortana system seems to work well. Another thing worth mentioning here is its tight integration with HERE maps (earlier known as Nokia Maps). However, only time will tell whether Microsoft's virtual-assistant is smarter than Apple's Siri.
