Hackers Made 207,245 Attempts On Indian Gamers In 2013: Kaspersky
Indian gamers come fourth in the list, Russian gamers have been the worst hit of all.
Kaspersky Lab experts have discovered that PC gamers around the globe were hit by a massive number of security attacks in 2013. The total number of attacks have been pegged at 11.7 million gamers, globally. On an average, users were hit by 34,000 attacks related to gaming, daily. Russian gamers were the worst hit of all, as hackers made 8,813,050 attempts, followed by Vietnam with 503,947, and China with 376,058. India is placed fourth on the list.
Gamers face all kinds of different digital attempts on their systems. Cyber crooks even try selling access to people’s gaming accounts on resouerces such as the portal and marketplace Steam. Malware types target specific games such as the hugely-popular Minecraft. When Grand Theft Auto V had been launched earlier this year, various sites offered fake downloads to access the record-smashing game for free.
