Twitter Changes Its Policy; Lets Blocked Users Stay Hidden
Comes after several users retaliate against the original move.
Twitter managed to create a minor controversy earlier this week, but managed to save its skin in good time. Under a new policy revision on handling blocked users, Twitter has changed its stand. Under the revision, a blocked user had access to your tweet stream, tweet to you, and ever retweet what you post. After several users raised concerns of bullying threats and backlash, Twitter has reverted its stand. In its recent blog post, the microblogging site clarified its stand: "Earlier today, we made a change to the way the “block” function of Twitter works. We have decided to revert the change after receiving feedback from many users – we never want to introduce features at the cost of users feeling less safe. Any blocks you had previously instituted are still in effect".
Under the reverted stand, users will no longer know who blocked them, those blocked will have no access to protected tweets. Know more about how to block users, and how blocking works, here. It’s a good thing that a social network of its size knows how to protect its users' interests.
