Samsung GALAXY Grand 2 Goes Offical With An HD Screen

The 5.25-incher features a 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU and 8 megapixel camera.

This year's best selling phone in India, GALAXY Grand finally gets a sequel with bumped up specs. Simply called the GALAXY Grand 2, this new phone comes with a 5.25" screen. Samsung has been criticised for using a low-resolution display on the original Grand. Thankfully, the Korean giant has addressed this issue in the latest iteration by shipping it with an HD (720p) screen. Going by the press shots, the design also looks a bit different than its predecessor. In fact, the Grand 2's faux-leather back-panel reminds you of the much pricier Note 3.

The phone is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor (no information about the chipset). You get 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB internal storage, and microSD card slot. Photography is taken care of by an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash. Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, micro-USB 2.0, dual-SIM support, and 2600 mAh battery. According to Samsung, the phone will feature Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) out-of-the-box. Similar to its high-end siblings, the Grand 2 comes with a plethora of software enhancements including S Translator, S Travel, Sound & Shot, Group Play, Best Face, Best Photo and Continuous Shot.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 will be available in Black, Pink, and White. As of this writing, there's no information regarding its pricing and availability in India.
