Samsung Halts GALAXY S III Android 4.3 Rollout

The Korean giant acknowledges software issues; promises to resume the update process at earliest.

Samsung's last year's flagship GALAXY S III started receiving Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update a couple of weeks ago. And before the new software could reach all the handsets, the Korean giant has already suspended the update due to stability issues.

The Android 4.3 update was touted to bring bring quite a few new features including the GALAXY Gear’s support. However, it ended up introducing lag, random freezing, battery drain, music playback stutter, and Wi-Fi issues. What's worse is that some of the users are reporting weird problem where the GALAXY S III freezes as soon as you receive a call.

If you've ever owned an Android device, I'm sure you'll find it quite normal. Seriously, can you name a single Android OEM that hasn't goofed-up an update? Anyway, good thing is that Samsung Mobile UK has acknowledged the problem, and also given an official statement to Sammmobile.com. Here's what the company has to say about the incident:

“As we are currently investigating the reported issues with Galaxy S3 4.3 Jelly Bean update, the upgrading service has been temporarily suspended. We are committed to providing customers with the best possible mobile experience, and will ensure to resume the upgrading service at the earliest possibility.” – Samsung Mobile UK".
