Microsoft Launches A Rather Intuitive Bing Music Video Search Update
Allows mouseover video preview and offers smart results powered by machine learning.

Not too long after the September launch of its video search functionality, Miscrosoft has spiced up its Bing search engine with an addition to that aspect. Microsoft has added music specific video search to the engine. By the looks of it, the addition seems pretty smart as well. Searching for music now just doesn't throw up random results based on keywords. The machine learning feature improves the search results and suggestions based on your keywords.
The official Bing blog mentions that Bing searches for music artists now brings up the most popular video for that artist on the top left side of the screen. Links to more music videos from the same artist is populated as a list on the top right side. The music video search feature populates the search results from popular video websites such as YouTube, Vimeo, MTV, Artist Direct, and more.
You don't even have to click through the search results to check if it's the right video. Just hovering the mouse over the thumbnail in the results lets you see and hear a preview. That way, you can click through to the right video without the ensuing tab hell. That's quite nifty indeed.
The search feature incorporates music discovery as well. Searches list discography of the artist in the original album format. The search engine also figures out the popularity of the artist's songs and list them out accordingly in the Top Songs section, so that you can get the best from a particular band. At any rate, this seems like a cool way to get your fix of music videos from YouTube and Vimeo in a more streamlined and intuitive manner.
