Make Your Own Smartphone-Controlled Robots
DIY toy robots that can move and react to their surroundings.
How cool would it be to build a robot that can be controlled by a smartphone? A US-based start-up company called Modular Robotics has created a DIY robot building kit called MOSS, which requires "No coding, no wires, oodles of configurations!", as described on its Kickstarter.com listing.
The robots are powered by a rechargeable lithium polymer battery, and can be recharged using a micro USB cable. The robots can move, and even pick up things, based on their configuration modules. These feature Bluetooth connectivity, which enables users to pair up robots with a smart phone or tablet and control its movements. Check out the video below to see how it works:
The company also sells something called Cubelets, which can be best described as magnetic and robotic building blocks. This is something similar to what we've seen from MIT's self-assembling M-Blocks. Read all about it here.
