NVIDIA Unveils Its New Flagship GPU — The GeForce GTX 780 Ti

Claims to be 21% faster than it's predecessor, the graphics cards based on this chip flaunt a hefty price tag of Rs 59,000.

 

NVIDIA has just lifted the curtains off their new flagship graphics processor — the GeForce GTX 780 Ti.

The GTX 780 Ti is based on the NVIDIA Kepler architecture (known to be a highly efficient GPU architecture) which provides an advanced, low-thermal-density design that translates into better cooling, quieter acoustics, and robust performance.

NVIDIA claims that the GTX 780 Ti includes dedicated frame metering hardware to ensure that gamers experience a smooth and consistent frame rate.  It also supports the new NVIDIA G-SYNC display technology, which eliminates screen tearing, and reduces display stutter and input lag.

The GTX 780 Ti features 25 percent more cores than its predecessor, the GTX 780, and is said to be almost 21 percent faster than the same when it comes to real world performance.

The GeForce GTX 780 Ti supports NVIDIA’s wide array of gaming technologies including PhysX, TXAA, and ShadowPlay. For those not in the know, ShadowPlay is a free, gameplay-recording software that allows consumers to record video of their most exciting gaming moments on the fly, and share them with the world. Using the hardware encoder built into the Kepler architecture, ShadowPlay’s impact on game frame rates is claimed to be lot lower than that of traditional recording applications.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti GPU is now available in India from a lot of card manufacturers, including ASUS, Zotac, Galaxy, and MSI. The price is expected to start at Rs 59,000, and for a limited period, participating partners will bundle free copies of latest games like Batman: Arkham Origins, Assassin’s Creed IV—Black Flag, and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

For the hardcore gamers with deep pockets, Diwali doesn’t seem to be over yet.
