The Windows Phone device with a 41 megapixel camera is expected to start shipping by third week of October.

 

The much-anticipated Lumia 1020 has finally hit Nokia's online store, and is expected to ship within next couple of weeks. This Windows Phone 8 GDR2 device features a 41 megapixel camera. Despite packing in a sensor bigger than the one found on normal point-and-shoot cameras, Nokia has managed to keep the phone pocketable. However, the phone's price tag of Rs 50,000 will burn a hole in your pocket.

The 1020's 41 megapixel sensor is backed by a BSI (Backside illuminated) sensor with a 6-lens assembly. Along with Zeiss optics, you get a Xenon flash. To take full advantage of the sensor, it comes loaded with Nokia Pro Camera app that gives total control over parameters such as shutter speed, exposure, white balance, and ISO. Other features include a 4.5" AMOLED screen with pixel dimensions 768x1280. The display is protected by a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3. It's powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon CPU, and has 2 GB RAM. You get internal storage of 32 GB, but there's no microSD card slot.
