Google Glass To Get A Dedicated App Store By 2014
The wearable gadget is also expected to be available to general public by then.
Those who are looking forward to adapting to wearable technology can now expect the Google Glass to become a commercial product soon. That is what Google seems to be working to achieve, as reports of a specific app repository have been making rounds.
A few months ago, there were chances that the Play Store would have a special section to house Glass-compatible apps. Now, a report on marketingland.com suggests that the search giant will have a dedicated app store for the device by next year. Around that time, the device is will also be made available commercially.
Until then though, apps for the device will have to be free (as explained in the Glass API terms of service), and the select users who own the device will have to rely on developers and other third party listings to help them find the latest apps. By any chance this is quite a small user base anyway.
