Delhi Metro Android App Goes Live
Give details about rail routes and train timings, iOS version expected soon.
As Mumbaikars wait for the Mumbai Metro to start plying, the DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) has gone ahead and achieved yet another milestone. No, they haven't gotten rid of the Blue Line buses, but have unveiled the official app on the Android platform. The official press release claims of the existence of an iOS app, but a search only returns third party apps. There are enough of those on all app repositories, including Windows Phone. Apart from the regular routes and timings, the Android app (which you can download here) gives you details including fares, distance, approximate travel time, stations in between, and a route on the map. Also, it give you details about gates and directions, contact numbers, Tourist spots near that station, parking, and feeder services apart from tour guide, metro museum, and lost and found service details.
It won't give you access to the built-in security camera feeds, so perverts can stay away. The app is available free of cost.
