Rumour: Nokia Preparing 6" Windows Phone Device

Finnish manufacturer seems to be finally bitten by the big screen bug.

Nokia is reportedly readying a 6" handset that runs Windows Phone. If true, then we can say that the Finnish manufacturer, who had so far shied away from big screen devices and stuck to its unique design philosophy, has finally been bitten by the big-screen bug that has been pushed and popularised by rival Samsung. It was only last month that the company had launched the Lumia 625 with a 4.7" screen, which is currently its largest Windows Phone offering. The purported 6" device will surely dwarf the one-month-old sibling, in a bad way.

Codenamed Bandit, the handset is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core CPU and the display will sport 1080p pixel dimensions. In fact, this could be the first of several Nokia Windows Phone handsets with 1080p displays. While details are sketchy at this point, it is said to be thin and light with a polycarbonate body and a main camera with at least 20 mp imaging sensor. While it is not know when an official announcement will be made, the device will compete with the currently available Samsung GALAXY Mega 6.3.
