Maxx Mobile To Replace Micromax?

Launches 15 floaters for the masses.

Mumbai gets religiously flooded in the heavy rains, but this time instead of raining 'cats and dogs', it's raining el cheapo (economical for the politically correct) handsets. Maxx's mobile strategy has been to release (read flood) Indian markets with 15 handsets on account of Independence Day (15th August). Looking at Maxx's marketing strategy, we feel blessed that our forefathers had the incredible foresight not to have our Independence Day on 30th August instead.

The different models launched by the company include Android phones — AX5 Plus, AX40, AX353, AX50; feature phones — MT280, MX426, MX425e, MX501, MX514, MX247, MX152T, MX153T, MX504, MT350, and a tablet — Tab722. The Android handsets are mid-range smartphones priced between Rs 3131 and Rs 6500, including the MSD7 AX50, with 3G capability, 5" display, Android 4.2.2 Jelly bean, 5 MP rear camera, at an MRP of 6262. In the feature phone segment, the phones start from Rs 1050 to Rs 2599.

The phones ranging from Rs 1050 to Rs. 6500, apparently "cater to different strata of the society, from a teenager to a working professional to a housewife", the press release said. Ajjay Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of Maxx Mobile said, "With the rapid adoption of mobile phones, today Indian consumers have become more technologically aware. This has created a market with highly varied needs and preferences". In other words, now that Micromax head honchos have been arrested, it's time to swoop in and make some moneys (with an "s").

And as usual, if you are looking for Maxx mobile reviews, do not be alarmed by our shamefulness and go right ahead and check out our review of MAXX MTP9 - Focus and MAXX MX401 right here.
