Nokia Lumia Users Can Now Block Unwanted Calls And Messages
Available only for devices running Nokia's Amber update, along with some recent Lumia handsets.
Nokia has now enabled a new feature called Call and SMS Filter to its Lumia smartphones running Windows Phone 8. With this, users can block unwanted SMS messages and blacklist numbers. The SMS and Calls Filter will be part of the General Distribution Release 2 (GDR2), and will be available for Nokia Lumia 625, Lumia 925, and Lumia 1020. Nokia says that other Lumia devices will get the update shortly.
To use the SMS and Call filter, Lumia users can simply navigate to the list of recent calls via the phone's tile and long tap the number which is to be blocked and then select 'block number'. Nokia also allows users to unblock and manage the list of blocked phone numbers through the Settings menu.
Apart from the blocking/unblocking, Live Tile, and notification can also be activated for a particular "block number filter". Nokia says that the update has started seeding, and users should receive the same in the next couple of days.
