MixBit: A New Video App From The Founders Of YouTube
Brings mixing and editing features; Seeks to challenge Vine and Instagram.
The founders of YouTube, Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, are back with their new project to challenge Instagram and Vine. The app lets you edit and mix clips captured through the app. Also, as opposed to 15 seconds in Instagram and 6 seconds in Vine, MixBit captures 16 seconds of video.
Users can add up to 256 clips at a time to make an hour long video. Users are not restricted to their own video, anyone can snip and mix publicly-shared content. Video sharing is anonymous as of now, and there is no option to comment or like any of the shared content. The final mix can be shared on any of the social networking site or via the MixBit website.
While the app's premise looks promising, it can raise a number of copyright infringement claims. The app is now available on iOS and its Android version will be out soon.
