Instagram Updated To Import Saved Videos

Also "straightens" photos in the iPhone version.

Instagram, the popular image-sharing and recently video-sharing app, has been updated. Users can now upload videos that were saved on the phone. Version 4.1 of this app allows users to import videos from the phones library, trim it to 15 seconds, and then add effects, before publishing it online. You can also square-crop the clip to keep the action front and centre. The previous version could only record a video, apply filters, and then upload.

The update also adds a new automatic straightening feature for the iOS version. This allows the app to take care of "crooked horizon" in photos right through the app. All the user has to do is to click on the new Straighten icon. Additionally, there is also a slider to rotate and adjust any photo, including ones from the photo library. As far as the Android app is concerned, it will now support devices with Android 4.0. Earlier, the video feature was only limited to devices running Android 4.1.
