Sony To Release Android 4.3 Upgrade For Various Devices
The exact release date for the update hasn't been revealed yet.
Google's latest Android 4.3 is now all set to grace Sony's smartphones and tablets. According to a post on the Sony Mobile blog, several of Sony's devices including Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia SP, Xperia ZR, Xperia Z Ultra and the Xperia Tablet Z will be receiving the Android 4.3 firmware upgrade. However, the exact date as to when these devices will receive the upgrade, is still unknown. Two of Sony's devices — the Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z are due for the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean upgrade in August this year.
Sony also suggested that some of the company's Android 4.1 devices will be upgraded to Android 4.3 directly, although the company hasn't made any specific roadmap public yet. This news by Sony comes at a time when rumours suggest that Samsung plans to bypass the Android 4.2 update to its GALAXY S3 and Note 2, and push them directly to the latest Android version.
