Hungama's Smartphone App Now Supports Adaptive Streaming
Will adapt quality of streaming music based on your data connection speeds.
If you enjoy listening to streaming music on your mobile device, but are worried about huge internet bills, fret no longer. Online music streaming service Hungama has now come out with something called adaptive streaming upgrade for its iOS and Android apps. The company claims to offer "seamless audio and video playback", irrespective of your connection speed (2G, 3G, or Wi-Fi). Effectively, this changes the bitrate on-the-fly while the music or video is playing, depending on the internet connection speed at the moment to ensure that there is no interruption in playback. The service also offers Airplay support for iDevices, including the Apple TV.
Apart from that, the service has also flagged off a Mood Discovery option that plays music based on your mood. The company has recently tied up with Karbonn mobiles, so you can expect the brand's "Smart" devices to come pre-loaded with the app.
