BSNL Announces Free Incoming Calls National Roaming Plans
More options for post-paid customers than for prepaid.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), India's state-owned telecom operator, has announced several free incoming calls plans when roaming across the country. The plans also make outgoing calls and SMS cheaper while on roaming. TRAI had earlier recommended discounted rates, instead of completely free roaming and telecom operators airtel, Idea, and Vodafone had announced plans accordingly.
Post-paid customers get the maximum number of options from BSNL, and some of them are similar to what id being offered by other operators. Customers who want a short-term plan can pay Rs 5 per day for free incoming calls on roaming, or Rs 69 for 30 days, with outgoing calls being charged at a pulse rate of 1.5 paise per second. There are two RTPs with free incoming and outgoing calls as well as SMS at Rs 145 and Rs 625 per month. RTPs of Rs 149 and Rs 825 per month for free unlimited incoming calls have also been launched. Prepaid customers can avail an RTP of Rs 405 and free roaming RTP of Rs 705.
