Spice Coolpad 2 Mi-496 Now Available For Purchase

The smartphone has a smaller display, and a 5 MP camera, priced at Rs 9500.

 

The successor to Spice's recently-launched Coolpad Mi-515 (priced at Rs 9990) has already been released, and it is now available for purchase online. This smartphone, called the Spice Coolpad 2 Mi-496, has been priced at Rs 9500. Similar to its predecessor, the new Coolpad also has a quad-core processor, but sports a relatively smaller display — the Spice Coolpad 2 Mi-496 has a 4.5" display as opposed to the Mi-515's 5" screen.

Spice Coolpad 2 packs in a single rear-facing camera, and no front camera. Other technical specifications as seen on Saholic.com includes:

  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.
  • 1.2 GHz quad-core processor.
  • Dual-SIM (3G+2G) connectivity.
  • 5 MP autofocus rear camera.

The Spice Coolpad 2 Mi-496 is priced only a tad lower than its predecessor, but for Rs 500 more you can get a front camera and a better battery. For people preferring to invest a little more, then there is the Karbonn Titanium S1 (quad-core) that is priced close to Rs 10K at brick and mortar stores, which can compete with both the Coolpad smartphones.
