Nokia Announces Budget 3G Phones — 207 And 208
These feature phones come with 2.4" screen; expected to be priced around Rs 4000.
In addition to its recently-launched, Nokia 301 (priced at Rs 5300), Nokia has added two more handsets to its feature phone portfolio. The latest entrants include the 3G-enabled Nokia 207 and 208. Both these handsets follow the retro candybar design, and come in variety of colours including Red, Yellow, Cyan, White, and Black. The screen size is 2.4", which is quite standard for feature phones. Other key features include Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0 connectivity, 64 MB RAM, 256 MB internal storage, and microSD card slot. Nokia claims that the 1020 mAh battery will offer 4.5 hours of talk-time on 3G and 12 hours on 2G.
On the software front, you get Series 40 platform. And it goes without saying, these phones come pre-installed with company's Xpress browser that compresses data to speed up the browsing and cuts down your GPRS usage. A lite version of Mail for Exchange allows you to check work email and sync calendars and contacts on-the-go. The phones also pack in the Nokia Slam feature, which had been first introduced in Nokia Asha 205 and 206. Using this, you can directly send files to the closest device over Bluetooth, without even pairing it. The 207 is a single-SIM phone, whereas 208 will have a single as well as dual-SIM variant. Going by the company's India website, it seems the Finns will only ship the dual-SIM version of 208 here.
Obviously, these phones are meant for folks looking for a secondary handset. Save for the camera, both handset look the same. While there's no word on the exact pricing for the 207 and 208 in India, you can expect it to be priced between Rs 4000 and Rs 4500.
