Huawei MediaPad 7 Vogue Now Official, Provides Calling and 3G Functionality
Huawei's new MediaPad tablet weighs in at 335g, and has a 4100mAh battery.
Huawei has made its new tablet, the MediaPad 7 Vogue official. The MediaPad Vogue 7 would be available both in 3G and Wi-Fi only variants, and supports voice calling. Huawei's new slate runs on a quad-core processor, and as its name suggests, the tablet has a 7-inch IPS touch screen. With its 1GB RAM and the 1.2 GHz quad-core processor combination, running certain (not all) high-end games is also possible, in the Huawei MediaPad 7 Vogue.
This 7-inch slate with its calling functionality can be expected to compete most prominently with Samsung's recent GALAXY Tab 3. Asus' Intel powered offering, the Fonepad, also has the potential to be a likely adversary to the Huawei MediaPad 7 Vogue, when brand reputation (in India) and high-end nature are taken into consideration.
As of now, the pricing of the Huawei Vogue slate is not known, but what is known is that the device would initially be released in China, after which other markets would receive the tablet. Technical specifications of Huawei's MediaPad 7 Vogue are:
- 7-inch multi-touch screen, IPS panel, 1024x600 pixels
- SIM-card support for calls
- Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system
- 1.2GHz quad-core processor, and a 16-core GPU
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB internal storage
- MicroSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB
- 3 MP rear camera, and a VGA front camera
- 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity
- 4100 mAh Li-Ion battery that is claimed to provide 20 hrs continuous calling on a single charge
- Weighs 335 grams
Huawei says that users can expect an integration of Facebook, YouTube, GPS Navigation and word processor, within the MediaPad 7 Vogue tablet device. Huawei has also built-in its Emotion User Interface that is present in the company's Ascend P6 smartphone (touted as the "World's slimmest smartphone") offering. The new MediaPad's USP is its 4100mAh battery, apart from its calling and 3G functionality. That battery places the device in the league of the Asus Nexus 7 that comes with a 4325 mAh battery that is expected to provide a backup time of 9 hrs.
Buyers of this product can always hope that Huawei would provide an upgrade to the Android 4.2 platform.
