Samsung GALAXY Core Open For Pre-Order, Ships From 1st July
This mid-range device packs in a dual-core processor, and runs on the Android 4.1 platform.
Samsung, which had announced the GALAXY Core a while ago, has now opened pre-orders for the device. Samsung GALAXY Core can now be purchased via Samsung's eStore in India, at a price of Rs 15,350, with no extra charge for shipping. There are EMI options for people intending to pre-book the GALAXY Core. For those interested in pre-booking the Core, or have already pre-booked, shipping of the smartphone is slated to begin from the 1st of July.
Samsung has built-in a dual-core processor to its GALAXY Core, considering its price. As for the technical specifications of the dual-core GALAXY Core:
- 4.3-inch WVGA LCD touch screen display, 480x800 pixels
- "Smart" Dual-SIM support
- Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system
- 1.2 GHz dual-core processor (Snapdragon Qualcomm)
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB internal storage
- MicroSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB
- 5MP rear camera and a VGA front camera
- Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and microUSB connectivity
- 1,800 mAh Li-Ion battery
- Features such as Camera Best Shot, Smart Stay, Smart Alert, Motion UI, Voice Unlock and Cloud Service
These tech-specs point at the "mid-range" nature of the GALAXY Core - it looks a lot like their Galaxy S2, except for the lower resolution camera and dual-SIM support. The price tag of nearly 16K would seem to go mostly towards the brand name, considering that there are devices like the XOLO Q1000 that have better tech-specs (5-inch screen, Android 4.2, 8MP primary camera and Bluetooth 4.0; priced at Rs 15,000). Samsung's GALAXY Core, is strictly for die-hard fans of the brand.
