Computex 2013: ASUS Introduces Intel Powered FonePad Note FHD 6

Packs in a 6" full-HD screen, 8 megapixel camera, and Android 4.2.

Thanks to the success of Samsung's GALAXY Note series, each and every manufacturer is forcing oversized phones on consumers. Just a few hours ago, we carried a story of Acer's 5.7-inch Liquid S1. Now before we figure out the purpose of that device, the company's Taiwanese compatriot ASUS has showcased a 6" phone called FonePad Note FHD 6 (quite a mouthful). The screen is IPS type with impressive pixel count of 1920x1080. The handset is powered by 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor coupled with SGX544 MP2 GPU. For photography, there's an 8 megapixel camera. Other keys features include 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and 3200 mAh battery. Detailed tech specs can be found at the end of this article.

On the software front, the FonePad Note FHD 6 features the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Similar to Samsung's S-Pen, this phone ships with a digitizer pen. So apart from being a PMP, the FHD 6 also has an use for doodling. As of this writing, there's no word on this oversized phone's price and release date. If priced around Rs 30,000, the handset can definitely compete with the Samsung GALAXY Mega 6.3.
