New White Coloured LG Nexus 4 Launches Globally

The white LG Nexus 4 is expected to have a price tag identical to the black coloured variant, and would provide the same "pure" Android experience.

The widely anticipated LG Nexus 4 White coloured variant of the smartphone, has finally been launched. In a release, the company stated that the LG Nexus 4, developed in collaboration with internet major Google, would get an initial Hong Kong release on May 29, followed by Asia, North America, Europe and the Middle East, over the next few weeks.

The white LG Nexus 4 would be equipped with the same aspects as the Nexus 4 black coloured variant. The smartphone would feature the same 4.7-inch display (with 320 ppi resolution), 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, either 8GB or 16GB internal storage, and of course the 8MP primary camera. There are also Google Services such as Google Now and Photosphere.

The USP of Nexus devices has always been their ability to receive updates to the latest version of the Android platform. There were expectations that the white LG Nexus 4 would launch with the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, but that version is yet to be released. So it is now certain that is the new Nexus 4 colour variant would run Android 4.2 at launch time, as LG states the Nexus 4 White will provide the "same Android experience", if not better.

As for pricing, we expect the smartphone to be identical to the current LG Nexus 4 Black, which is priced at Rs 25,990 across Indian online retailers. Despite the price tag of nearly 26k, the Nexus 4 is reasonably priced when you consider newer flagship smartphones such as Samsung's GALAXY S4 (price Rs 40.2k), and the HTC One (price Rs 42k). The Nexus 4 may have to contend with these newer glamorous flagships in India, perhaps even get ready to be replaced by a "Nexus 5" in a couple of months.
