Google Earth team in collaboration with U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), TIME, and NASA releases amazing time-lapse images.
If you ever wondered how the Earth changes over time, you've landed on the right page. Google Earth, in collaboration with U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), TIME, and NASA has compiled stunning time-lapse images. These GIF files shows you how exactly the Earth's surface has changed over the last 28 years. What more, these images are interactive! To accomplish this feat, the team had to go through millions of satellite images amounting to over 900 terabytes of data. The select images were then processed by the CREATE Lab at Carnegie Mellon University to make it browser friendly. Now without further ado, here's an example:
