Upload pictures to Wikipedia's online free image repository from your smartphone.
Those who actively contribute to Wikipedia's image repository called Wikimedia Commons, and have just invested in a smartphone with a decent camera, can now put up pictures from the comfort of their new handsets. For a user-contributed encyclopaedia like Wikipedia, images whether professional or not, help in illustrating the topic at hand.
While the app is available for the iOS and Android platforms for registered users, for now only the Android app lets you upload multiple images across various categories at once. The Android app also lets you geo-tag your images. You cannot register from the app; you'll have to go through the website for that.
