Byond Launches 5.3" Phablet PI For Rs 11,000
Packs in a dual-core CPU and 8 megapixel camera; borrows clothes from the GALAXY S III.
The domestic brand Byond Tech has launched 5.3" Phablet PI in India. Yes, we hate the word Phablet, but we can't do anything about it if somebody names their phone that.
It sports an IPS panel with pixel dimensions of 540x960. Like all the budget Android phones, this one comes with dual-SIM (GSM) functionality. The phone houses a 1 GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM. In the photography department, it offers an 8 megapixel auto-focus camera. Other notable features include 4 GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 3G, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth, and 2000 mAh battery. It runs Android jelly Bean. Detailed specs are at the end of this article.
At a quick glance, this phone looks like a poor man's GALAXY S III. According to the Phablet PI's official product page, the phone also packs in multi-windows app view, which we've already seen on Samsung phones. And similar to the GALAXY S III, it's available in White and Navy Blue. Let's hope that Samsung believes in the saying "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". The Phablet PI is priced at Rs 11,000, the phone will compete with Micromax A110 Canvas 2. To sweeten the deal, Byond has thrown in a free flip cover and screen guard.
