LinkedIn Revamps Android And iPhone Apps

The mobile site also gets a much-needed facelift; resembles the iPad app launched last year.

After social networking giant Facebook unveiled its new UI for Android smartphones, business networking service LinkedIn has decided to upgrade its user experience on the mobile platform too. However, the latter has just stuck to giving its Android and iOS apps a much-need makeover. In a post on its official blog, the new redesign is said to offer users with "more relevant and timely professional insights in your stream so you can quickly discover and engage with all of the great professional conversations taking place across LinkedIn". The new interface is livelier and more visual than what it used to be, with larger pictures and a better news stream.

The update also makes way for a custom navigation page that appears on sliding the homepage screen to the right. Moreover, the web service has taken into account that over 64% of its users are based out of the US, and so the app is now compatible with several regional languages including Bokmål, Norwegian, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish,  and Turkish. Sadly, there is no support for Hindi in this update. Both the Android and the iPhone versions of the app are now available for downloading.
