YouTube Native App For iOS, Updated To v1.3
The latest version can access live video streams, queue videos to watch on Apple's media player, and more.
Google's native YouTube app for iOS has now been updated to include live streams access, an all new feed called My Subscriptions and support for video queue-up that users can watch on their Apple TVs. This updated app (version 1.3 of the native YouTube app for iOS) is available for download from the Apple iTunes store.
With Live Streaming access support, users can watch events from throughout the world, as and when they take place, on mobile iOS devices. However, users would require a Wi-Fi connection to be able to watch the live streaming of different events. Along with live streaming access, version 1.3 of the YouTube native app also brings with it a new "My Subscriptions" feed on the guide which enables easy access to users' new uploads from subscriptions. This makes the process of viewing YouTube videos on TV a lot easier since all videos can now be queued up from Google's YouTube native app.
There is also the One channel branding for video creator channels feature. Apart from these tweaks, the usual performance and stability improvements have been incorporated in the new version of YouTube's iOS app.
To sum up, the overall list of enhancements in Google's native YouTube app for iOS version 1.3 are:
- Quick access to new uploads from subscriptions via "My Subscriptions" feed on the Guide
- Access to Live streams
- Queue up videos to play on TV
- One Channel branding for video creator channels
- Stability and performance improvements
With these enhancements, Youtube's native iOS app is now on par with the native YouTube Android app, and the update could also bring in more mobile users. Since YouTube has been clocking 1 billion active users in a month, and people preferring their mobile devices to execute web related activities, there is every possibility of Youtube foreseeing an increase in the number of active users.
